Local Sponsor Information
The Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission is proud to work with nearly 250 premier projects around Ohio. "Local sponsors" (or "project sponsors") are the organizations and individuals who are coordinating the capital projects at those facilities. The local sponsors are the Commission’s primary customers, and this section of the site provides information directed to them.
If you are not currently receiving an appropriation from the Commission and would like to request funds from the state of Ohio, please visit the funding page on our web site. You may also find it helpful to peruse the typical process, project assessment and project requirements sections found on this page.
Important Information:
Guides & Reports- “How to” guides for sponsors, legislators, and organizations planning capital projects, as well as Commission annual reports.
Typical Process- While timing varies, our projects follow this general process.
Project Standards- Commission projects are subject to a number of requirements established in statute, the capital funding bill, and Commission guidelines. This provides a summary of those standards that must be met.
Capital Project Assessment - Prior to any official action by the Commission, sponsors must undergo a thorough project assessment . The assessment includes review of project and operating financials, your business plan, and whatever planning materials you have assembled in support of your project. Please discuss your project assessment requirements with your assigned project manager, or consult the Project Sponsor Resource Guide.
Coming before the Commission- More information on presenting your project to the Commission for review is available here.
Project Sponsor Extranet- An interactive site where project sponsors can send and receive information regarding their funding and processes. Active sponsors should contact their Commission project manager for login information.
