Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission Approves $1,650,000 for Pro Football Hall of Fame

Columbus, Ohio The Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission approved $1,650,000 at its quarterly meeting today for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Fawcett Stadium renovation.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Canton City Schools have been jointly working on a renovation project for Fawcett Stadium, which is a high school stadium adjacent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Museum and is the venue for the Hall of Fame’s Enshrinement ceremony and Hall of Fame Game. State funds will be utilized to renovate restrooms and concessions stands in the north stands, remove paint from the concrete structure to allow moisture to escape and prevent any further deterioration, and repair the structural deterioration of the concrete in the south stands.

The Commission approval, coupled with the signing of legal agreements, allows the Pro Football Hall of Fame to be reimbursed on a pro rata basis with funds appropriated in Am. Sub. H.B. 699 of the 126th General Assembly. Stark County members of the 126th General Assembly who voted in favor of the bill include Senators John Boccieri and Kirk Schuring, and Representatives John Hagan, William Healy II, and Scott Oelslager.
